As a food reviewer for "Restaurant World," I've had the pleasure of experiencing the warm ambiance and delightful culinary offerings that Le Petit Four has to offer. The restaurant boasts an enchanting atmosphere, whether you choose to dine indoors amidst artfully curated decor or soak in the sun on the picturesque outdoor terrace—a perfect setting for people-watching on the iconic Sunset Blvd.
The menu at Le Petit Four is a tempting tapestry of flavors, with vegetarian options that appeal to both discerning palates and casual diners:
- Penne Pink Sauce: A creamy, comforting dish that perfectly balances the richness of cream and tomato sauce with sprinkles of parmesan.
- Spaghetti alla Checca: A fresh, vibrant blend of heirloom tomatoes, basil, garlic, and olive oil, ideal for a light yet satisfying meal.
- Fettuccine Alfredo: A classic rendition featuring the velvety richness of butter and parmesan that is unapologetically indulgent.
- Truffle Fries: A decadent twist on a beloved favorite, these fries come topped with gooey mozzarella and a hint of earthiness to elevate your snack game.
Beyond the delectable pasta dishes, Le Petit Four excels in its appetizer selection. Dive into the Burrata served with fresh apples and arugula—a crunchy, refreshing start that awakens the senses. The French Onion Soup has received rave reviews for its umami-packed broth and perfectly melted cheese, warming the soul on any occasion.
The main courses do not disappoint either. The Branzino shines as a stand-out dish, prepared with delicate flavor accents of sage and lemon, while the Steak Au Poivre reaffirms why classic French brasseries remain timeless. The balance of flavor and quality in each bite exemplifies culinary excellence, with generous portions that assure a satisfying dining experience.
Le Petit Four transcends mere dining; it creates moments that linger in your memory. The attentive staff, led by the charismatic manager Luc, ensures a dining experience that feels both personalized and inviting. With free parking and a menu that caters to a variety of tastes, it's a haven for food enthusiasts and casual diners, creating a perfect storm of culinary delights and smile-inducing service.
As I savor each dish at Le Petit Four, I can’t help but feel a connection to its rich history and the community it serves. In an era when so many cherished eateries are closing their doors, visiting Le Petit Four feels like stepping into a piece of Los Angeles' culinary heritage. Here's to many more years of enjoying extraordinary dishes in this beloved establishment, where every meal is a celebration of life, flavor, and the joy of togetherness.

Where else can you get great food, service and free parking in weho?? They have seatings inside and out. I love LP4 and you should too!! See you there.

Le Petit Four is a beacon of light that reminds you of Sunset Blvd's heart & soul. As soon as we arrived, our hostess promptly seated us with our choice of indoor / outdoor seating. In a French-themed restaurant, the choice to go "as fresco" was obviously the way to go. Drink: Tropical Paradise - "A rum-based cocktail with pineapple, coconut, and citrus flavors". Every bit as delicious as it looks. Not too sweet. I didn't see it on the menu, but our server Jordan, was more than happy to inform me that their bartender could whip it up. 9.2/10 Appetizers: They were out of oysters, which is a good sign that it is a top seller. French Onion Soup - Sizable, melt-in-your mouth onions. Plenty of pipingly, not-too-hot rich, umami, broth. Balanced well with an evenly soaked piece of bread/crouton, & perfectly topped with that oh-so-demanding, yet not so aggressive Swiss cheese. It warmed my soul. 8.9/10 Crab cakes - Light, crisp outside, smooth, delicate inside. It's a nice, smaller-sized portion of 2 cakes. The mixed baby greens is the perfect accompaniment. The 2 sauces (chipotle aioli & cool lemon dill) showcase the wide range of flavors. 8.8/10 Burgundy Snails aka "Escargot" - What you came here to read... Look, for any of you that are hesitant, it's a "texture" thing. Chewy, sure. But if you like Mexican tripe, Asian rice cakes, or heck, even 90's Gushers candies, you're home free. Fortunately, I love gummy, slimy, chewy textures. Step-up & live a little. Taste-wise, I'm of the mind that if you cook something in enough butter, garlic, & shallots, then you've got a winner. - 9.5/10 Entrées: Branzino - A large (definitely shareable or good for leftovers) full-sized fish. A good fish doesn't taste fishy. Perfectly sautéed in oil, sage, & an irresistible lemon sauce, it's quite simply the ideal fish dish. Not heavy at all. The arugula salad is the appropriate addition to counter the "friedness" of this dish with that complementing peppery bite. - 9.1/10 Steak Au Poivre Filet Mignon: A great way to measure any French brasserie. A perfect medium rare. On size alone, it almost seemed larger / very generous for a filet mignon, which is not a bad thing by any stretch of the imagination. The au poivre was not over-powering & really allowed for the supreme quality of the filet to shine through. Filet Mignon are almost always the cuts that I avoid, but here, this French classic definitely proves why it has stood the test of time & always delivers. The fries were not only plenty, but almost addicting. Like almost "McDonald's - level" addicting but without the uncomfortable feeling of consuming 19 ingredients that you're not sure about. The little bits of parsley were the exact touch that I didn't know that I needed. 9.2 / 10 On a deeper note, I don't know what's going on with all of these classic restaurants falling victim to a poor economy where inflation is leaving us with 2 extremes: either "fast food" or high-end, gourmet restaurants. Where's the middle ground? Iconic spots like Le Petit Four existed before I was born & I don't even want to imagine a world where this, cozy, safe, & delightful establishment doesn't exist. With it's bright yellows + light blues, open, airy dining areas, & beautiful, custom paintings, I don't know how we ended up in a situation where the owners have been forced to close. Thank you, Le Petit Four, for your decades of service to the Sunset Strip. I hope you find a partner that is more than willing to invest & pump some needed funding into this L.A. institution.

This was one of my favorite places to eat when I lived in West LA during college. I just saw in the news that they are closing but not sure when. "Once-thriving businesses on the famed Sunset Strip are shuttering one-by-one. Since February, at least five businesses along the strip have announced they will be closing, one of which being the beloved Le Petit Four restaurant. In an Instagram post, the restaurant, which has been open since 1981, stated that rising costs and a decline in foot traffic made the decision to shut down permanently "unavoidable." Very sad about this. I always order the same thing when I come here: the seafood Farfalle. Will call to see when they're closing and make my way out from OC to share this place with my son, who's never been.

Beautiful landmark restaurant that always has great food. From the salmon to the steak and the pasta dishes. Every bite has been delicious. This is the place to go for great food and people watching. Hopefully by some miracle they stay open for a 100 more years.

This afternoon for brunch I had the eggs Benedict with crab cakes. I also had a wonderful expresso. The crab cakes were fresh the hollandaise sauce was perfect. The staff was very attentive to our needs and it was a gorgeous day in West Hollywood to eat outside. I highly recommend putting this on your places to visit.

I've been a regular of Le Petit Four for 17 years. Me and a friend came in for lunch last Saturday with limited time in my schedule and Luc, the manager, was so accommodating to give us an indoor table. It was very busy and everyone in the restaurant was moving quickly. Unfortunately, we ran out of time and needed to go, so without ordering yet, we informed Luc that we needed to leave. He was so concerned and said he would take our order immediately himself if we'd stay, but we truly over-extended ourselves time wise but to NO FAULT of the staff at all. Luc is always so amazing to greet us with a smile and makes us feel like we're VIPs every time we come in. I see him do that with every customer. The food is amazing, but Luc and the staff are why we keep coming back! Customer service is everything - and they nail it with such authentic care. We appreciate you.

Absolutely love Le Petit Four, it's a delightful classic. I live close by and it's been my go to spot for many years. A pretty airy upscale French bistro in the middle of Sunset Blvd where all the action is. You can sit inside the charming dining room or the amazing outside terrace. Both are nice and have a great view of the Sunset Strip. I like to sit outside it's a bit more exciting, because it's fun to people watch. I've dined afternoon and evenings here, and the vibe is always a consistent cool casual experience. The service is excellent. All the servers are friendly and helpful. Now let's talk about the food. Everything is delicious. The food is seasoned perfectly and very tasty, the desserts are pleasantly sweet, and the cocktails are top shelf. There is free parking in the back which is so convenient. I enjoy going here with my family and friends. It's always a magical time.

enjoyed appetizers and drinks on the cute and bright patio! It was a great way to celebrate one of the rare sunny days in LA! our server was speedy and so friendly. we ordered the Tuna Tartare, fries, and whole artichoke (the Dijon vinaigrette is to die for)! As for drinks, I'd recommend the cucumber basil cocktail -- super refreshing.

The warm welcoming of the staff the absolutely delicious food the great quality of the food. The homemade bread the home made desserts. The celebrity sightings the people watching the comfortable chairs I don't know what could be better. EAT HERE ALWAYS !!! BTW Yelp must be broken If they don't have 5 !

It's been over 25 years since I've been to the always trendy Sunset Plaza on the Strip. A lot of places have closed since then except for Le Petit Four. Le Petit Four is where all the "beautiful" people of the Hollywood Hills gather and the ambiance is very French bistro-like. The food has always and continues to be very good which is one of the reasons why Le Petit Four has survived all these years where others have not. I came for lunch and had their French Onion Soup which was very good with its rich vegetarian broth, caramelized onions, and toasty bread topped with melted cheese. Their tasty crab cakes were chocked full of lump crab with both chipotle aioli and lemon dill sauces. It also came with a mixed green salad which made this appetizer a satisfying lunch entree. Service was very good, both friendly and very welcoming. I never felt rushed even with a fairly full restaurant. They have both an outdoor sidewalk patio and a nice white tablecloth inside tables. Parking is free in the back for the Sunset Plaza patrons. Even though prices are very much on the high side, Le Petit Four provides a very satisfying dining experience.
